For trout, Dolly Varden and salmon, the feeder streams of the Copper River in south central Alaska are some of the richest in the state and in the remote areas there are very few anglers.

The rivers of Kodiak Island are virtually crammed with spawning salmon and it has some of the best roadside fishing in Alaska. Watch for the big brown bears.

For the ocean fisherman hooked on halibut, Homer has Alaska’s largest charter fishing fleet and continually bring home these huge flatfish weighing hundreds of pounds.
